Daily Digit: Japan Inc. Struggles to Find Overseas Customers.

Today's daily digit: 6.5. That's the year on year percentage slump in Japan's exports, according to new trade data for October. It's the fifth straight month of annual declines, and worse than the already negative consensus forecast of economists polled by Reuters. Two key markets are buying fewer Made-in-Japan goods. Europe, reeling from austerity and ratings downgrades, and China, where industry has slowed, and anti-Japan sentiment has flared over a territorial dispute.
