Davos: Recession Demands More Competition

Countries need a medium and long-term plan to get the economic recovery underway, by focussing on areas such as education, innovation and tax, according to the OECD's Secretary-General Angel Gurria. Speaking on the second full day of sessions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Gurria said recession should make policy makers and competition commissioners encourage more competition, a view that is supported by the Vice President of the European Commission, Joaquin Almunia.
