Fierce Clashes in Egypt

There were fierce clashes between protesters and police in Egypt's Alexandria on Sunday outside a courthouse where the city's former security director and other officers were being tried over killings during the 2011 uprising. Around 300 protesters were killed in Alexandria during the revolt that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak from power. A police van sped towards protesters who threw stones, one of which knocked the helmet off an officer who was standing through the roof of the van.
