Judge Invalidates New York City Large Soda Ban
Big plans -- cut down to size. One day before a New York City ban on large sugary drinks was to go into effect, a judge says not so fast. A State Supreme Court justice invalidated the ban Monday, calling it arbitrary, because it applied to some and not ALL food establishments. The ruling was a blow to Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He had pushed hard for the ban -- to combat what he said is an obesity epidemic in his city.
