'Kentucky Fried China' No More?
Yum Brands - owner of KFC and Pizza Hut - calls China "the greatest restaurant opportunity of the 21st century." China accounts for over half of Yum's sales and operating profit. China's love affair with KFC goes back to 1987, when it became the first western fast-food chain to open in Beijing. Yum now opens more than one new KFC in China every day. It has around 5,000 restaurants in 800 cities.
