By early evening local time on Wednesday the number of dead in the Pakistan earthquake disaster had reached at least 327. The country's biggest quake since 2005 reduced hundreds of mud houses to rubble in Baluchistan province on Tuesday. The U.S Geological Survey put it at magnitude 7.8. Hundreds have been injured. The tolls of dead and injured were expected to rise as rescue teams moved deeper into the stricken area. The army sent troops to help with the relief operation.
