Syrian Civil War Nears Second Year
Only the shells of buildings remain in this town just west of Damascus. Video obtained by Reuters shows the remnants of a heavily bombarded town- government forces have targeted the area in an attempt to force out rebels. In Damacus, still held by the Bashar al-Assad's troops, residents wait in line for bread outside a bakery. Food and fuel shortages in the city are common as trucks transporting goods drive along war torn roads.
