2011 Preseason schedule

So we have a schedule out for the preseason in the NFL. But you have to ask the question how can we have a schedule without knowing if there will be a season or not? I’m sure the NFL has to have a plan in place in the event the season starts on time but obviously all these games are subject to change

WEEK 1                 JAGS @ PATRIOTS

WEEK 2                 FALCONS @JAGS

WEEK 3                 JAGS @ BILLS

WEEK 4                 RAMS @ JAGS

Week 1 should start around the 12th of August, with that in mind I think d-day for the lockout to end and the season to start on time will have to be July 1st. Think about it, a team has to have time to get a few practices in before they step onto the field, teams need time to sign free agents, and what about the rookies. Without any contact by the teams and players rookies can’t be signed, can’t study the playbook, and won’t be able to set in day one and contribute. Hopefully this is a sign that both sides a confident the season will go on as planned and not just a just in case scenario.
