Alright I’m 1 week away from weigh-ins for the APF Powerlifting Nationals in Orlando and the weight is looking good so far. I’ll be competing in the 198lbs weight class and I’m floating around 196-198 this week. Making weight shouldn’t be an issue; I still have a full week to diet and cut some water weight before 9am next Friday.
My 3 main lifts are looking pretty good as well; I went into training with a conservative goal to hit a 300lbs bench, 400lbs squat, and 500lbs deadlift. Last week in the gym I hit a 305lbs bench, 405 squat, and a 500 deadlift so I’m already at or surpassing my goal. Now you get three lifts in each event and the highest lift counts toward your total so looks like I should have no problem passing the 1200lbs total.
Next week I’ll decide my opening lifts and my second attempts on Monday and Tuesday, then Wednesday and Thursday it’s all about cutting the excess weight to make sure I come in as low as possible. Friday weigh-ins are at 9am after that’s its rehydrate, resting up, and eating as much as possible.
