Lebron Misses Out Again

Previous Posts

By Jay Gray

Another year means another time Lebron James will sit and watch someone else hoist the NBA’s Championship Trophy. This was supposed to be his year, teamed with two other superstars for the sole purpose of winning the title, but again it just wasn’t meant to be. People love to make the comparisons between Lebron and Jordon but the big thing that separates them is the championships.

Obviously there is a huge difference in the numbers but it’s more about the way they played in the playoffs. Who could ever forget Jordon’s drive against the Lakers or his game winning shot over Craig Ehlo. These two shots have been used over and over in NBA promos and they sand the test of time not because of how amazing they looked but because of when they came, in a clutch situation. Sure Lebron has had his share of highlights but in the grand scheme of things they mean nothing without the ring.

That’s the biggest story in this NBA Finals is what happened to King James? In the regular season Lebron averaged almost 27 points per game and nearly 39 minutes a game. move now to the finals where Lebron averaged almost 5 more minutes per game but scored over 11 points less per game. Jordon and James both knew how to take over a game but while Jordon did it when it matter most, Lebron has yet to prove it on the NBA’s biggest stage.

Just look at Final’s MVP Dirk Nowitzki, he didn’t always have the most points but when his back was against the wall at the end of the game, he was the one that took over and scored the must make baskets. This is why the heat lost this series one superstar made plays when it mattered most and another one didn’t. there’s no doubt Lebron will be a hall of famer when he hangs up his shoes but there will always be a debate if he is one of the greatest until he wins the title. Maybe Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert was right when he said the Cavs will win a championship before Lebron.
