Jay Gray
In sports we talk all the time about home court or home field advantage but how about this one for Barry Bonds. His court case for the 4 counts of perjury and 1 count of obstruction and a possibility of 30 months in jail is being held in San Francisco. Now remember of the twelve jurors on the panel 100 percent have to say guilty or he’s innocent, how ya gonna find that in San Fran.
Remember Bonds played in San Francisco for 15 years and He broke both the single season and career home run records there. If there is any place he would get a favorable jury it would be there. Some of the dismissed jurors said things like, “Barry is innocent”, “my opinion is that steroids is ok to be used since these are the jobs of athletes”. It’s definitely not an easy job to find someone with an objective opinion about Bonds, most people I’ve talked to either love him or hate him.
With opening statements scheduled for today we will see how the trial unfolds but I don’t see bonds being found guilty on any charges.
