Owners All Alone In The Lockout

Previous Posts

By Jay Gray

Well the owners are all alone on their lockout island. It’s obvious the players are against the owners and we know how the fans feel but now a surprising group it lining up against the owner. The NFL coaches saying we don’t care who signs our paychecks we’re all about the guys that bust their humps for us. Yesterday the NFL Coaches Association filed a brief to the 8th Circuit Court in support of the players because the lockout is putting their jobs in jeopardy.

The brief says "To meet management's expectations, coaches need adequate time in the offseason to prepare their players for the season ahead.” It goes on to say "The lockout has already interfered with the coaches' offseason plans for their players, and each day lost in preparing for the season further diminishes coaches' opportunities to prove themselves and advance their career." Now we just have one more group to side with the players to end this lockout and that’s the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

I really think if the Appeals court sides with the owners than the lockout will take a lot longer than if the Courts say the players are right. With training camps on the horizon we are in real danger of losing games this year. We haven’t reached the point of no return yet but depending on how long the appeal takes we could reach the deadline as the ruling goes down. Hopefully the appeals court joins the fans, players, and now the coaches in our chant “WE WANT FOOTBALL”
