A Busy Weekend In Sports

Previous Posts

Well if you’re a sports fan you might have to hold off on seeing Hangover 2 this weekend because it’s going to be a busy one. Memorial Day weekend this year will see a bunch of unique action. First up is tonight a game seven in the NHL. Game seven’s are always special but when it’s the only playoff action going on and the fact that it’s a chance to go to the Stanley Cup Finals, even people who don’t care about hockey will be watching this one.

Saturday it’s the fastest game on two feet and one of the fastest growing sports in the country. The NCAA final four for lacrosse, fans of the ACC should love this one. First up at 4pm its Virginia and Denver followed by Maryland and Duke. All these game will be held in Baltimore so I like the home team Terps this weekend.

Sunday it’s probably the most famous race in the world, the Indianapolis 500. Add to the drama of the race, it will be the 100th running. It could also be Danica Patrick’s last 500 she plans on racing full time in Nascar next year. Also you can’t forget about the French open is coming to a close plus the full slate of games in the MLB, your sports schedule is full this weekend.

So between all the BBQ’s and days off why not check out some sports you might not normally watch in a weekend. Who knows you may just become a fan of a sport you barely knew existed.
