Tebow's Debut

Previous Posts

I know a bunch of people that read the blog think I’m a hatter but I disagree, I really just tell it like it is. If the Jags play horribly I’m going to point it out. I’m not a homer that will just concentrate on the positives of a game. With all that said let’s talk about Tim Tebow’s performance on Sunday vs. the Miami Dolphins without looking through Blue and Orange colored glasses.

He did get the win which in the end is the most important part of the game but if you watched the entire game and not just the highlights you can’t be that impressed with his day. You have to look at the game in context, the Dolphins where coming off  a short week after just playing on Monday night, they came into the game giving up the most passing yards in the league, and they hadn’t won a game all season. Tebow and the Broncos on the other hand were coming off the bye, Tebow knew he had two weeks to prepare to arguably the worst team in the league. He came out and played one of the worst games for about 57 minutes. Before those final two drives Tebow only managed 40 yards in the air with two weeks to prepare and again going against the worst pass defense in the league, he managed no scoring drives, and don't forget the countless over throws and missed open receivers. I really think if the Broncos played against any other team in the league  it would have been a blowout loss. You can’t be a consistent winning QB in the NFL if you play 90% of the game poorly.

Again I say you have to look at the game in context, those last two drives were great but they were against the worst passing defense in the league. Next Sunday will be a real test for Tebow going up against the Lions who have a top 10 Passing Defense and a really good defensive line. Before we start talking about how great Tebow is (like I already hear so many people doing) lets see him do it against a good team. Even Luke McCown won his first game against a bad defense and we see how long he lasted as a starter. So go ahead Tebow fans call me a hater and say how wonderful Tebow is but remember this blog before we crown Tebow the next great QB.
