Jags Drop Another One

Previous Posts

By Jay Gray

You can’t call it a trend or a pattern anymore it’s just the way the Jags play. They give up huge yards on the ground, they struggle on offense, receivers drop passes, and they lose games especially at home. The Jags stayed true to form again this week when they took on the Jets at EverBank Field. They gave up 166 yards on the ground, they managed only 10 points, and lost to the Jets 17-10.

Sure they are dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball but we’ve seen this story line all season long. The question is are the Jags players not good enough to win games or are they talented and just not playing up to their potential. That’s what the front office we have to figure out this offseason which is all the Jags fans and players have to look forward to at this point. There were a few bright spots in the loss like Montell Owens who is basically the Jags fourth string running back running well. He finished the game 14 carries for 91 yards and the lone touchdown of the day. Jason Babin also had a good day grabbing the Jags only sack on the day and recovering a fumble.

It was a big crowd at EverBank Field and I’m not sure if that is because fans wanted to see Tim Tebow or that this game might be the last one for the home fans to see a win in person. Neither one happened. Jags fans will get one last chance to see the team when New England comes to town in a couple weeks. The Jags will either have to play a lot better or hope New England rests their starters if they want to have a chance in that one.
