What Is The Ready To Rise Rally?

Have you ever had someone tell you that they have a free vacation house for the weekend and when you get there you find out you have to sit through a long time share presentation? I really hope that this Ready To Rise Rally thing tonight isn’t like that but I have a feeling it will be. The Ready To Rise Rally is being billed as a big pep rally where we can meet new owner Shad Khan and new coach Mike Mularkey. There will also be performances by the D Line and cheap concessions and it’s all free.

I’ve never heard of a team holding a pep rally two weeks after a season is over when that team only won 5 games, granted it isn’t very often a team hires a new owner and head coach in the same year. My theory is it will be a giant sales pitch to buy season tickets. Sure the owner, head coach, and players will all be on hand and speak but I think it will all be centered around getting you to spend money on tickets. Usually these rallies are done closer to the start of a season not right at the end and we all know how badly the Jags need to sell tickets so why else would you hold a rally so soon after a horrible season? It’s simple, to build some excitement around the team in effort to get the fans to pony up for season tickets. Want more proof? Team Teal has been doing the past few seasons and who will be emceeing the event tonight Team Teal President Tony Boselli.

Just like a free vacation that sound too good to be true I think a free rally where fans can actually interact with the new owner and head coach sounds too good to not have a hidden agenda. I hope I’m wrong and this really is a way to get people excited about the Jags but I think every person who talks tonight will mention something about buying a season ticket. But they it’s free and they are serving cheap beer so it should be a good time but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
