Monday Nightmares

Previous Posts

By Jay Gray

The can’t be any worse feeling for a fan than watching your team lose badly on Sunday then watching their next opponent dominate on Monday night. I talked last week about how the Bengals where making opposing QBs look like all stars well that won’t be the case this week. Last night after Monday night football the Bears D had to be giving all the Jag fans and Blaine Gabbert especially nightmares.

I don’t know who had worse dreams last night the Jags offense or their D after watching the Bear rip apart every aspect of the Cowboys. The Bears D picked off Tony Romo five times and ran two of those back for scores. On offense Chicago was just as dominate. Jay Cutler had two Td passes, Brandon Marshall went for 138 yards and a score, and an injured Matt Forte was limited but still averaged 4 yards a carry. The Jags went through arguably the easier part of their schedule in the first month of the season and haven’t looked very good. The second Month is arguably the Hardest so if the offense doesn’t figure it out soon we could see another home blowout loss.

The one thing the Jags have going for them this week is the Bears just flew to Chicago from Dallas and turn around for another long flight into Jacksonville after a short week. That much travel for the Bears could be the advantage the Jags need to make this one close. The Jags will need to jump on the Bears early if they want a chance this week. Don’t start strong and players and fans will have another sleepless Sunday night because of a bad loss at home.
