Inconsistant Oakland

Previous Posts

This week for the Jags is going to be one of those we’ll see kind of games. When it comes to Oakland you just never know what type of team will show up. One week they will play horrible and lose badly to Miami then the next week they will beat a team like Pittsburg or take an undefeated Falcons team down to the final play. They are a lot like the Jags.

The Raiders have one of the best backs in the league in Darren McFadden, a proven QB in Carson Palmer, and some speedy receivers. The Jags always seem to struggle when they head out to the west coast but against the Raiders they play really well. The Jags have won four straight against the silver and black and only lost once to them in their history. The playoffs might already be out of reach for the Jags but if they want to improve on last year’s record they need to beat Oakland.  After this week the Jags play two tough games against Green Bay and Detroit followed by three straight divisional games.

Both teams come into this game at 1-4 but both have done it in different ways. The Raiders have played well against some top teams and just fell short while the Jags have been extremely none competitive in their recent losing streak. Surprisingly I’ve said it a lot this season heading into a Sunday game and its true again this week, the Jags could win this one. Unfortunately usually the Jags end up losing those games. Hopefully with an extra week to prepare the Jags will show up for this one.
