A soggy, wet mess of a morning drive to work. A front is stalled over us, drenching the area with rain for much of today. It'll eventually taper off by tonight. By tomorrow and the rest of the week we're sunny and above average with temps in the low 70's.

On Wednesday the Jaguars sale is decided by NFL owners at a meeting in Dallas. The final step in the process is expected in early January, when Shad Khan becomes the second owner in Jaguars history.
A man suffers life threatening wounds in a stabbing not far from the Duval County jail downtown. He stumbled into the lobby of the jail last evening, pleading for help. Jacksonville police say the man was stabbed somewhere down the street from the jail. They're talking to a person of interest but have not announced an arrest.
Police are looking for the man who raped a woman walking along the Arlington Expressway. 19-year-old Brianna Palmer says a man pulled up from behind her, pulled her inside, forced her to have sex and pushed her out.
Friends and family are mourning the death of a 74-year-old Lake City woman who drowned in Palestine Lake. Emma Kelly and her son, Norris Demeritte, were fishing on the lake over the weekend and were reported missing when they failed to return home. Kelly's body was pulled from the lake. Divers suspended their search for Demeritte.
A woman suspected in a hit-and-run over the weekend is arrested. Police say 47-year-old Virginia Kosobud hit and killed 22-year-old Crystal Brown as she was walking on Normandy Boulevard. It's unknown whether alcohol was a factor.
As the search for a hit-and-run driver goes on, a fundraiser is held for the victim's family. 13-year-old Brien Alvezios was killed as he was riding his bike along Branan Field Road near Trail Ridge Road. All Star Sports Bar and Grill in Fleming Island donated ten-percent of proceeds to Brien's family to help pay for funeral expenses.

Newt Gingrich is coming under fire for comments he made about Palestinians. He says we have an invented Palestinian people. An aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he hopes Gingrich will reconsider his statement.
President Obama says it doesn't matter who the GOP nominates to run against him because the core philosophy of Republican candidates is the same. In an interview with C-B-S' "60 Minutes," Obama said he doesn't think the American people believe in the Republican agenda of lower taxes for the wealthy and weaker regulations.

The Lowe's home improvement chain pulls ads from a reality TV show about American Muslims. The move comes after an evangelical Christian group, the Florida Family Association, complained that "All-American Muslim" is propaganda that hides what it says is Islam's "clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."
The Virginia Tech police officer killed in a campus shooting last week will be laid to rest to day. 39 year-old Deriek Crous was killed by the 22 year-old shooter who then took his own life.
San Francisco is about to make history. Starting January first the city becomes the first in the country with a minimum wage topping $10 an hour. It's just a 32-cent hike but for many low-income workers, it's a psychological boost that raises the prospect of a little more money in their pockets.
