A perfect day with temps above average today.  It'll be sunny and 75.  Even warmer tomorrow and through the weekend. 

It could be a nightmare if you're traveling to the Great Plains for Christmas.  At least 10 inches of snow has fallen before dawn in Kansas and several more inches are expected as the storm moves east. Road crews are on alert in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

Our Top Local Story:  The days of cops at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office taking their cruisers home with them for free could be numbered.  Officers in Miami-Dade County now have to pay 50 dollars every other week to take their cruisers home and with budget cuts looming in Jacksonville, officers are concerned such a requirement may be coming to the river city.

Don't expect day to day stuff at Winn Dixie to change following the sale to Bi-Lo.  Jerry Mallot with Jax USA Partnership says the new owner has deep pockets, allowing Winn Dixie to grow. 

Facing hundreds of years in prision, former JaxPort Chairman Tony Nelson is asking to be put on probation.  Nelson is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of corruption.  He faces up to 609 years in prison and a nearly 12-million-dollar fine.

A Westside church is hit by their version of Scrooge -- copper thieves.  The thieves gutting air conditioning units at Deland Missionary Baptist Church and making off with copper wire.  Despite the thefts, services will go on as normal this weekend.

New details in the case of the 24 year old Mandarin woman who was shot to death inside her home.  Nicole Catignani was found dead in the home on Hearthstone Drive around 8 Saturday night.  Police are now saying that there was no forced entry into a home of Catignani and now believe she may have known her attacker.

A Mandarin man is charged with murder after police say he beat his father to death.  Timothy Byrd admitted to police that he struck 83-year-old Robert Byrd multiple times in the head this past Halloween.  The elder Byrd died from his injuries Saturday.

Florida A&M President James Ammons will not lose his job over the hazing accusations.  Police are still investigating the death of Robert Champion, a death they now call a homicide.  No charges have been filed yet.

Shad Khan has made it clear over and over again that he's not planning to move the Jaguars.  Now he's putting his money where his mouth is.  Khas is agreeing in the contract to pay the Weavers 25 million dollars if he moves the team in the next five years.  The money would go to the Weaver's favorite charity. 

Our Top National Story:  It's becoming a bareknuckle partisan fight and your tax dollars are caught right in the middle.  House Republicans are demanding the Senate return from their holiday break to negotiate an extension on the payroll tax cut and jobless benefits. The Senate approved a two month extension last week.  House Republicans want a one-year extension.

More wild volatility in You Decide 2012.  Newt Gingrich's support is eroding in Iowa and nationally.  Insider Advantage now has Ron Paul in the lead and a giant drop in support for Gingrich.

Newt Gingrich steps in for Herman Cain in a big political event just days before the Florida primary. Gingrich is taking Cain's spot as keynote speaker at the Palm Beach County Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner.

The streets of Pyongyang are quiet as North Koreans mourn the death of long-time ruler Kim Jong Il. His body is lying out in a memorial palace today as weeping mourners are filling public plazas.  The Obama administration is calling for a peaceful and stable leadership transition.  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says we're looking for better relations with the North Korean people despite the "evolving situation".

With a faulty transformer outside the stadium, perhaps Candlestick Park should have been lit by candlesticks.  The Monday Night game was delayed twice by a total of 35 minutes due to power outages. Power was restored, but not to the Steelers' offense -- the Niners beat Pittsburgh, 20-3.
