We begin a gradual warmup today with temps in the mid-80's. We're back to hot and humid weather for the weekend with temps in the low 90's.
Our Top Local Story: Alvin Brown is the new Mayor of Jacksonville, with no recount needed. Brown says he's deeply honored by the trust that the people of Jacksonville have place in him. He wants to bring Jacksonville together, calling it the most critical priority as Mayor. Mike Hogan is hoping the city rallies around Brown. But he's also waiting to hear Brown's plan to cut wasteful spending.
No recount needed. Kimberly Daniels has won her race for the Jacksonville city council at-large seat. Daniels beat Republican David Taylor in a race that was tinged with allegations that her ministry is hostile toward gays.
Hear my interview with former Senator Rick Santorum, who is headlining a Republican event next week in St. Johns County. I asked Santorum when he'll make his White House bid official.
I also spoke with Senator Marco Rubio about his endorsement of mayoral loser Mike Hogan, the tea party's future, and his efforts to pay down the deficit.
Someone's taking shots at the JEA. Two utility trucks were shot at this week in northwest Jacksonville. The workers who were inside the trucks were not hurt.
Someone made off with 1,300 gallons of gas from a Westside gas station. Operators of the Shell station at Greenland Avenue and Ramona Boulevard believe the gas was taken sometime after ten Tuesday night.
We're getting a clearer picture of the impact that budget cuts will have on your kids in the classroom and on the field. The Duval County School board is making tentative cuts that include ten high school varsity sports...including wrestling, cross country and tennis.
Governor Scott is cleared of ethics violations. The Florida Commission on Ethics dismissed two complaints against Scott's ownership of Solantic. Scott is working to sell off his share of the urgent care company and says he's been transparrent in all of his business dealings.
