Our Top Local Story:  You Decide 2012 takes up shop in Jacksonville.  Herman Cain is scheduled to appear at tonight's Stand Up For America event at the Times Union Center.  He follows Newt Gingrich, who made his case before the First Coast Tea Party at the Landing yesterday. 

Our first real look at Jacksonville shows Mitt Romney tied with President Obama.  The President leads Rick Perry and Herman Cain in the UNF poll just released this morning.

Herman Cain is the first Republican presidential candidate to have Secret Service protection.  Cain requested the detail after some reported threats. 

Jacksonville-based cargo company Sea Star Line is agreeing to pay more than $14 millioni for their role in an alleged price-fixing scam. The company's former president has been indicted for his role in an investigation that started in 2008. 

Governor Scott is convinced the Supreme Court will toss out Obamacare.  Speaking with our partner the Palm Beach Post, Scott says it will never be the law of the land.  We'll speak with Governor Scott live at 7:23 on Jacksonville's Morning News.

The father of a girl who accidentally shot her sister in the foot in an Arlington home was in court Thursday facing culpable negligence and improper storage of a firearm harming a minor charges.  Jackson told police he was repairing the gun on Wednesday, and set it down in a bag behind a toilet while he went to get his toolkit.  While he was gone, 2-year-old Keara got a hold of the gun and it went off, shooting 4-year-old Breonia in the foot.

Police arrest four men in connection with a string of robberies including one at a Family Dollar.  All 4 have confessed to at least six robberies in all to police.  They were pulled over in their getaway car.

Our Top National Story:  No federal shutdown, but no big spending cuts.  Congress has sent the President a spending bill that keeps all federal agencies functioning through mid-December.  Republicans who voted against it say we need real cuts, not miniscule cuts. 

Calls for a balanced budget amendment will be answered in Washington today.  The House is voting on a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.  Today's vote is the first such vote by the House since 1995.  The White House says it will not support it.

The deficit reduction supercommittee is still limping toward a Thanksgiving deadline with no tangible evidence of a potential breakthrough -- but they have resumed meeting face-to-face.

Another college coach is facing allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with kids.  Syracuse University has placed assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine on administrative leave in light of what the school says are new allegations of child molestation. Two former ball boys tell ESPN the longtime assistant coach molested them repeatedly.
