48 cops are given pinkslips, a total of 71 people at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are being let go.  FOP President Nelson Cuba says it's a depressing time for the JSO.  We're told Sheriff Rutherford will talk about this reduction in force today.

Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler is sounding the alarm over budget cuts.  He says he's done all he can to save money like relying on volunteer labor and civilians instead of sworn officers.  His budget was cut $2.5 million but he stopped short of saying whether he'll have to lay off any cops.  Clay Commissioners meet next week, and Beseler hopes they'll reconsider the cuts.

Apple lovers around the world rejoicing as the new iPhone 4S is released.  It's got new features like an improved camera, new operating system, and global usage capabilities.  But WOKV Tech Expert Will Van the improvements don't justify an upgrade from an iPhone 4.

You Decide 2012:  Herman Cain's rise continues.  A poll by CBS News has him tied at the top with Mitt Romney.  Rick Perry's support continues to fall.  Cain is taking full advantage of his momentum after winning the Florida GOP straw poll, targeting Perry on his lack of a jobs plan.

Chris Christie is officially out of the race that he claims he was never in in the first place.  Christie says there's too much to do in New Jersey.

Our Top National Story:  Racheting up the rhetoric over the jobs bill.  President Obama continues to press Congress to "pass this bill" before Halloween.  Democrats in the Senate are rewriting portions of the bill, substituting some provisions with a tax increase on millionaires.
