The gushing rains stayed south of Jacksonville in the afternoon, flooding streets in St. Augustine. The storms dumped up to three inches of rain, leaving several cars stranded on U.S. 1.

Tropical Storm Isaac will be getting a lot of attention Florida the rest of this week and next. Some of the storm tracks bring Isaac to Florida, and a few have it brushing by Jacksonville. But a lot of factors could change that. See the forecast and strike map on our hurricane guide.

Holdout Maurice Jones-Drew is now reportedly talking about a trade out of Jacksonville. ESPN reports Jones-Drew is open to a trade.  The Jaguars are getting a new home field, in London. The team will play one game each of the next four years, beginning in 2013. The date of the game and who the Jaguars will face has not yet been determined. The one thing all parties involved are sure of however, is that they are “all in”- highlighting the benefit for both the Jags and the city at large.

Even more national attention for Jacksonville, when Jaguars owner Shad Khan's story is told by 60 Minutes. The crew has been following Khan around, including Tuesday's news conference about the Jaguars playing games in London. The segment is expected to air this fall.

First Lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to visit Naval Station Mayport today, carrying an announcement about the Joining Forces program that helps military veterans and their spouses find jobs. The Joining Forces program set a goal of getting at least 100,000 veterans and their spouses hired. We will have a reporter at the Obama event and will update you on the story during Rush and Sean.

Our Top National Story: Still running. Republican Todd Akin is staying in the race for the Senate in Missouri following his "legitimate rape" comment. Akin is giving Republicans a lot of headaches, as just about every politician, including Mitt Romney, is calling for him to drop out of the race.

Mitt Romney's selection of Paul Ryan as his runningmate has not altered the race against President Obama. A national poll by the Associated Press shows the campaign remains a dead heat with less than three months to go. Overall, 47 percent of registered voters say they plan to back Obama and Joe Biden. 46 percent favor Romney and Ryan. That's a statistical dead heat.

Ahead of their convention in Tampa, Republicans are adopting a party platform calling for a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion without specific exceptions for rape or incest. It's a position at odds with Mitt Romney, who opposes abortion but supports exceptions in cases of rape. Our coverage of the Republican National Convention begins Monday with WOKV's Matt Augustine following the Florida Delegation. And WOKV's Washington Bureau Chief Jamie Dupree will bring you the newsmakers every day on Jacksonville's Morning News.

No pay raise for federal employees, at least until next spring. President Obama has extended a two-year pay freeze, estimating that it'll save more than $60 billion.
