Getting back to a typical late summer weather pattern with afternoon and evening thunderstorms around and temps in the mid-80's. The pattern continues through the weekend so hopefully we have a chance to dry out a bit before rain from TS Isaac arrives.

As for Isaac, the updated forecasts seem to push to the storm farther south and west, perhaps into the Gulf of Mexico. But it's still way to early to say what will happen early next week. Local emergency planners are asking you be prepared for the possibility of more flooding rain, especially if you live in an area that is prone to flood.

Watching and worrying. Officials in Tampa say they're ready to make any decisions about evacuations or cancellations as tens of thousands of delegates descend on the city for the Republican National Convention. When a tropical storm raked the Tampa Bay area a couple of months ago, thousands of homes and businesses lost power, tornadoes spun off and streets and bridges were closed.

Today's interview lineup:

At 6:53 hear Jamie Dupree explain how the President may be bucking a recent trend by campaigning during the RNC.

At 7:19 hear Neal Boortz on why he thinks Mitt Romney is being upstaged by Paul Ryan.

At 8:23 hear Jamie Dupree on the new Florida poll that shows Senator Bill Nelson with a comfortable lead.

Breaking News in St. Augustine, where investigators are on scene of a deadly house fire. Firefighters called out to a house on Watson Road early this morning. When they got there, they found one person dead inside the home.

Three young boys will be scarred for life and their attacker will spend the rest of his life in prison. A jury has convicted Adel Zeitoun of sexually abusing three young boys over a 16 month period in 2007 and 2008. The boys were frequent visitors to his home because Zeitoun's girlfriend was their babysitter. Prosecutors say Zeitoun raped the boys in the middle of the night. He faces a mandatory life sentence in October.

A woman says she was raped on campus inside a woman's locker room. The woman tells police she was attacked inside the Student Wellness Complex at 9pm Tuesday. The woman describes her attacker as in his early 20's, between 5'10'' and 6'0'' tall and dark blonde hair.

She's accused of shooting her husband and driving his body to Jacksonville. New this morning, the Orange Park woman is indicted on a charge of first degree premeditated murder.
Prosecutors say Jacquilla Bullard shot her husband Jerry August 4th, then left the body in Jacksonville, reporting the car stolen to police.

Our Top National Story: If Congress doesn't act soon, we could plunge into yet another recession. The Congressional Budget Office has some very ominous words for lawmakers on Capitol Hill. It warns them that their stalemate on taxes and federal spending could throw us into a recession next year -- and the end result could be the loss of two-million jobs.

Raising doubts about his objectivity. A veteran Wall Street executive who performed an independent review that exonerated the Obama administration's program of loans to energy companies, contributed more than 50-thousand dollars to the Obama re-election team. A review of campaign records shows the contributions to Obama started just weeks after Herbert Allison Jr. testified to Congress.

The FDA is recalling cantaloupe from an Indiana farm it believes are linked to a salmonella outbreak. At least 178 people in 21 states have become ill and two people have died.
