Scattered showers and thunderstorms again this afternoon, heaviest near the coast with the seabreeze. We could see heavy rain and strong gusty winds. Temps today in the low 90's. Storms are possible again tomorrow and Friday afternoon before we dry out and heat up for the weekend.

Our Top Local Story: The teenager whose video of a flash mob at a northside Walmart went viral is learning several lessons. His grandma says she hopes he will avoid these kinds of situations in the future. And police are using the video as evidence in trying to arrest some of the hundreds of people in the violent act. Police say the mob is responsible for at least $1,500 in damage, and believe it all started at a nearby house party that had just been broken up.
A body found buried in a shallow grave behind a home in Regency and new this morning, two people are being questioned by police. The body was discovered yesterday as police were investigating a missing person's report at a home off Southside and the Arlington Expressway. A police K-9 discovered the body--no identity and no cause of death just yet.
More than three times the legal limit. A Jacksonville man is facing several criminal charges for a crash in St. Johns County that left four people hurt. The crash happened in April on County Road 210 and St. Johns Parkway bt Brian Peters was just arrested Monday. Cops say Peters had a blood alcohol content of point-274. Three people involved in the crash had serious injuries--a fourth passenger had minor injuries.
Florida election supervisors are unlikely to remove any potentially ineligible voters before the August 14th primary. The state just got the OK to access a federal immigration database to check the citizenship status of voters. However the state association that represents Florida's county election supervisors will urge its members to move slowly.
New leadership, and new focus on customer service by the government-owned utility. As we first told you during Sean Hannity, the JEA Board picked former Westinghouse Electric VP Joseph Belechak over the current chief financial officer. Regaining customer trust is the top challenge for the new CEO, who begins in October.
Mayor Brown's budget is hitting all city departments hard with budget cuts, and that includes the sheriff's office. Sheriff Rutherford says he was initially told to slash $22 million from his budget but that figure has grown to $28 million under the mayor's finalized budget proposal. We're going to talk to the sheriff later today and ask him what his next step will be.
The least valuable team in the NFL calls Jacksonville home. Forbes magazine is out with its annual survey of sports franchise values, and it finds the Jaguars worth an NFL low $725 million. The team with the highest price tag on it -- the Dallas Cowboys, at $1.85 billion.
The woman accusing Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll of inappropriate behavor rejecting a plea deal on charges of illegally distributing a secret recording. Carletha Cole was offered several deals that would have kept her out of prison, including one that would have forgiven the charges altogether if she stayed out of trouble for 180 days. Cole says she would never admit to doing something she never did. Now, if convicted, she could be facing up to ten years in prison.
Hundreds showed up to snag a free ticket to President Obama's speech at the Prime Osborn Center tomorrow. Some tickets are still available at the downtown headquarters on North Julia Street starting at 9am today. We'll carry the Obama campaign speech Thursday afternoon on WOKV.COM.
Mitt Romney has released a new television ad that accuses President Obama of sending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to political allies. The ad comes as part of a fresh, multi-pronged attack from the Romney campaign. The ad accuses Obama of sending stimulus money to friends, donors, campaign supporters and special interest groups. It also charges that taxpayer dollars went to projects in Finland and China.
High profile Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is declaring President Obama's birth certificate is a forgery, following investigation from the cold case posse. Arpaio says his intent was to clear the President but his posse found too many problems with the birth certificate.
Our Top National Story: The FBI is stepping in to try to figure out who's putting sewing needles inside turkey sandwiches on Delta flights. We're not getting any word that any Delta flights to JIA were targeted. Nonetheless, six needles were embedded in turkey sandwiches on flights from Amsterdam to Atlanta, Minneapolis and Seattle. Delta says until it determines exactly where the needles came from, it's beefing up security in its Amsterdam kitchen.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will return to Capitol Hill today, where he'll testify to the House Financial Services Committee. Yesterday before the Senate Banking Committee, Bernanke painted a bleak picture of the U.S. economy and warned that it'll get worse if Congress doesn't soon agree on how to avert a budget crisis.
Penn State could face some very serious penalties from the NCAA over the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal and one option on the table is the so-called "death penalty". A final decision is expected in the near future.
