Heavy rain is possible again today, and we could see isolated severe storms during the afternoon and evening. A tropical airmass is stuck in place, leading to localized flooding as it dumps more rain on us. Each day this week features rain and thunderstorms.
Rising water blamed on torrential rains damages homes and closes roads throughout the Panhandle. A tornado connected with the storm system also causing damage in southeastern Alabama. And more rain is expected for the region today.

With a temporary certificate of occupancy now in hand at the new Duval County Courthouse, the moving begins today. Fire Chief Marty Senterfitt says the building won't open to the public until next week. Meanwhile the old courthouse also reopens today to begin clearing through some of the backlog that has built over the past three weeks. We'll be listening for answers to several of the questions from this delay at 4pm today when the Courthouse Oversight Special Committee meets.
Gas prices have dropped 16 cents nationally over the last three weeks. A gallon of unleaded is averaging $3.62 nationally. The Jacksonville average is $3.34 a gallon.
Term limits could be on the ballot this fall in Duval County. Jacksonville City Councilman Doyle Carter is introducing an ordinance that would set up term lmits for all elected positions in the county. The action comes after the Florida Supreme Court dropped its 2002 decision to throw out term limits.
More than 100 people gathered to remember the man who chewed off the face of a homeless man in Miami. A funeral was held Saturday for Rudy Eugene, who was shot by police during the bizarre attack over Memorial Day weekend. It's still not clear what led to the attack on Ronald Poppo. The homeless man remains hospitalized.
Governor Scott says he is defending Florida's voter rules against illegal registration by non-citizens, felons and dead people.
Speaking at a Tea Party Express rally in Tallahassee, Scott says he will decide in a few days whether to sue the federal government over access to a Department of Homeland Security non-citizen list for voter verification. A Hispanic civic organization and two naturalized citizens filed a lawsuit in federal court Friday seeking to block the state from carrying out an ongoing purge.
A 31-year veteran of the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office resigns amid domestic violence charges. Sergeant Randy Wayne Capo was arrested last month after a neighbor called 911 to report a domestic dispute. An internal investigation had recommended that Capo be fired, but he resigned before that could happen.
Police continue investigating a violent crash that left a 24-year-old woman dead Sunday. The crash happened near Hodges and Sutton Park on Jacksonville's Southside. Police say the woman hopped the curb, hit two trees and spun out, leaving her car a mangled wreck.
A peaceful end to a six-hour SWAT standoff at a Jacksonville apartment. Police say 24-year-old burglary suspect Frederick Parrish holed himself up inside an apartment at the Roosevelt Gardens just north of Shands Saturday night. The standoff ended without any shots being fired.
A lot of questions will be coming the way of U.S. Commerce Secretary John Bryson. He was involved in two traffic crashes Saturday night. Cops in L.A. say Bryson was driving alone when he allegedly rear-ended a car that was stopped for a train. Bryson then hit the car a second time after stoppng to talk with the people inside. Minutes later he allegedly caused a second crash. Bryson was found alone and unconscious in his car. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.
Our Top National Story: Terror at Auburn University -- three people, including two football players, are killed in a shooting at a pool party near the campus. Three others are wounded, with one fighting for his life. Police say the shooting started with an argument over a woman. The gunman is still on the loose.
Opening statements today in the child sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. He's facing 52 counts involving 10 accusers. If convicted, Sandusky could spend the rest of his life behind the bars.
Firefighers are putting themselves on the line for Colorado residents. A 22 square mile fire is burning west of Fort Collins. At least 18 structures have been damaged or destroyed.
A do-over for President Obama today on his message about jobs and the economy. Obama Friday said the private sector is doing fine, later clarifying that the economy is not doing fine. Obama will be doing several rounds of interviews with local TV stations, including our news partner Channel 4.
Of the songs planned for a New York City elementary school graduation, "Baby" by Justin Bieber is okay, but Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" is not. The principal at the Edna Cohen School is banning kindergartners from singing the song out of fear of offending other cultures. The New York Post reports the kids would have waved tiny American flags while singing the song for the June 20th graduation ceremony.
