Our Top Local Story: Phantom parking tickets? Many Jacksonville drivers are saying they were recently notified of an outstanding parking ticket they never knew they had. City parking division manager Paul Crawford says a backlog of tickets never sent to collections and computer glitch dating back to the Peyton administration ended with the city sending out 25,000 letters.
Mayor Brown's office says it was a mistake when he signed up for a pension plan from the state. Remember he promised during the campaign that he wouldn't take a pension. And the bad news continued for 8th and 10th graders. The new grading standards may be the source of the problem. Now, state education officials are calling an emergency meeting to give more students a passing grade. Governor Scott adding to the urgency for clear test results. Duval Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals says the grading raises serious questions and concerns, but they'll wait on a full audit.
