And one of his top state campaign leaders, Senator John Thrasher, tells Jacksonville's Morning News Romney will spend a lot of time and money in Northeast Florida. An investigation is ongoing into the disappearance of nearly 300 prescription pain pills from the Mayo Clinic. The pills were stolen from eight patients. The hospital says the pills were in a cabinet that patients, visitors and employees had access to.
Some students at Beaches Chapel School in Neptune Beach say they will not return next year because of the school's lack of action against a teacher acting inappropriately. The teacher was removed from the classroom and the principal was fired for reporting the teacher's inappropriate behavior, leading to several complaints by parents.
Mayor Brown says he rushed through the paperwork and signed up for a state pension plan by mistake. The Mayor tells WOKV he's now exploring options to get out of it. Brown reiterated that he took a 20 percent pay cut and pays for his own car expenses because he wants to be fair to other city employees.
Florida officials were looking to remove non-citizens from U.S. voters rolls. But instead they found the names of 53,000 dead people registered to vote. The Department of State checked Social Security files to confirm the information. Some elections supervisors want more proof before taking the names off the rolls.
You may ultimately decide whether the city of Jacksonville should ban discrimination based on sexual preference. We hear city councilman Doyle Carter pushing for a November referendum. The council is considering an expansion of the human rights ordinance to include sexual orientation or sexual identity.

Our Top National Story: The massive loss that JP Morgan Chase suffered is even worse than originally thought. The New York Times reports that just this week alone, the losses have now risen to three-billion dollars. When CEO Jamie Dimon made his announcement last week, he indicated that the losses could double -- but he said that would be within the next few quarters. Meanwhile, some J-P-Morgan shareholders are suing the bank, saying it changed its risk model without telling them.
For a second straight year, Republicans engineered a vote in the Senate on President Obama's budget in a bid to embarrass Democrats politically, as Senators voted 99-0 against Obama's spending plans. Democrats labeled it a stunt, while GOP lawmakers said it was evidence that the White House isn't serious about tackling the budget deficit.
The White House is threatening to veto a defense bill House Republicans are continuing to push ahead. It would add billions of dollars, boost nuclear weapons programs and slow cost-cutting reductions in the force. Republicans say President Obama is shortchanging the military and leaving the nation vulnerable. The bill's final passage is expected Friday.
