Jaguars will face 49ers in London 

A perfect fall day with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and temps around 80.  Cool again tonight, and dry through at least Saturday with temps in the low 80's.  We have a chance of rain Sunday and start to warm up again early next week.

At 8:07 we got a call from London, where Jaguars owner Shad Khan announced the Jaguars will play the 49ers in their first London game next hear.  Hear Khan talk about the impact he hopes the London games will have on Jacksonville's economy.

At 8:23 hear Jamie Dupree explain how the polls still show a huge edge for Mitt Romney following his first debate performance.

New this morning, the Jaguars will play the San Francisco 49ers next October 27th in London.  It's the first of four games the Jags will play at Wembley Stadium over the next four years. 

Our Top National Story:  Intriguing faceoff.  Joe Biden and Paul Ryan share the stage tonight for the only Vice Presidential Debate.  You'll hear it live on WOKV at 9pm.

Mitt Romney is promising to get tough on China to help American workers.  Romney is pledging, on his first day in office, to designate China a currency manipulator, a step no U.S. administration has taken against any country for 18 years.

The State Department defends its decision not to approve extra security for our diplomats there.  It came in a hearing that showcased a much different explanation of what happened in an attack that killed four Americans in Libya than first offered by the Obama Administration.  The State Depaprtment says there was no intelligence hinting at a large scale attack on a U.S. compound in Benghazi.

U.S. foreclosure filings dropped to a five-year low in September as fewer homes were on track to be seized by lenders.  It was the second-consecutive monthly decline in filings, although there remains a sharp divergence along state lines.

Our Top Local Story:  Florida's chief executive officer getting involved in the review at Florida State College of Jacksonville.  Rick Scott is calling for a full-on investigation into the college foundation's spending.  In a letter the Governor sent to chief inspector general Melinda Miguel he calls for a probe in to the last five years of FSCJ spending.  It comes after FSCJ's board agreed to a $1.2 million severance package for outgoing president Steve Wallace. Questions about his spending practices, specifically $46,000 in college money he allegedly dropped on food over a 2 year period.  In a statement to WOKV, a spokeswoman for the governor said "it's unfortunate that 1.2 million was spent on severance pay rather than investing in students and the classroom."

We are following up with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on a late night crash that left a girl hospitalized with life threatening injuries.  Our news partner Channel 4 reports the girl was hit by a car on Atlantic Blvd. near Art Museum Drive around Midnight.  Police say before the girl was hit, she had gotten in a fight with people in another vehicle.  She got out of the car and was walking toward the median when another car hit her.

A shooting at a Clay County assisted living center leaves one man dead.  The Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to shots fired yesterday at the Life Care Center on Kingsley Avenue where 68-year-old Patricia Stanton lived.  Police say there was some kind of domestic argument between Patricia and her husband James. He died, Patricia is still in critical at Orange Park Medical Center.  The exact motive behind the shooting is unknown at this time.

The new Executive Director and CEO of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority used to be the CEO of the Atlanta and San Francisco transit systems.  Nathaniel Ford was selected based on his past leadership and experience.  He'll have an important decision to make in 2016 when the six cent local gas tax expires.
