The weather is just about perfect for a day by the pool or at the beach.  Most of today will be dry and hot with temps around 90 but feeling even hotter with the heat index.  We could see a late afternoon thunderstorm after 3pm but the chance is pretty minimal.  Temps will be at or near 90 every day this week with the typical afternoon thunderstorm chance.

At 6:53 hear Jamie Dupree on the messages we can expect from Democrats in Charlotte this week.

Our Top National Story:  The Democrats gather later this morning for the start of their national convention in Charlotte, N.C.  President Obama is hoping his sizeable advantage over Mitt Romney with Hispanics will help him win key battleground states in the West, as well as Florida and Virginia.

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign is launching an aggressive Republican response at the site of the Democratic National Convention.  VP nominee Paul Ryan will campaign 230 miles to the east in Greenville. Aides say that the Wisconsin congressman will focus on a simple question the campaign is driving this week: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?''  Romney will spend much of the week in New Hampshire and Vermont preparing for three fall debates.

President Obama is headed to Louisiana today to see damage from Hurricane Isaac.  It follows Friday's tour of the damage by Mitt Romney.

Romney and Ryan made their case why the country needs a new leader in front of thousands of supporters at The Landing Saturday.  Romney promised more jobs and more take home pay because you deserve it.

After the Democratic National Convention wraps up, President Obama will bring his campaign to Florida.  We don't know exactly where in this state he'll be headed.  With 29 electoral votes at stake, Florida is the biggest swing state in this year's election.

The state of Florida has to pay back almost $600,000 to welfare recipients who were denied benefits from a drug-testing law that's now on hold.  About four-thousand of the state's poorest families weren't able to pay for food or housing in the four-month period last year when the law was being implemented.  An Orlando judge putting the law on hold, saying it may violate a constitutional ban on unreasonable search and seizure.

The Jaguars have their MoJo back.  Maurice Jones-Drew ended his 38 day holdout Sunday, without a new contract, and offered no apologies. Jones-Drew says he felt what he did was right.  All of the Jaguars brass welcomed MoJo back.  It's unclear what role he will play in the opener this Sunday at Minnesota.  Hear the game at 1pm with the Tailgate show starting at 10am.

A bicylist is in stable condition after riding into the back of a semi-trailer.  Police say Cecilia Collins was riding on North Roscoe Boulevard Sunday afternoon when she ran into the back of the semi, which had stopped in the middle of the road.

Police in both Florida and Georgia need your help in finding a 24-year-old woman who disappeared late last month.  Ivy Merck has been missing since August 23rd, when she failed to show up for work.  Her SUV was later found in Deerfield Beach.
