1.) A 4th of July deck collapse in Neptune Beach sends several people to the hospital. One of the party goers tells our partner Action News up to 15 people were on the deck when it fell Thursday. The house was built in 1985 and renters tell Action News the front deck had some rotten wood. Four people were taken to the hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
2.) Townies go home. That message on stickers showed up around Jax Beach this week. Police arrested two people they believe are responsible for posting dozens of stickers around town that say "Townies Go Home". Mayor Charlie Latham says it sends the wrong message to visitors and can ultimately hurt local businesses that depend on visitors. Jason Swanson and Matthew Sugden-Kirsh were arrested and charged with criminal mischief.
3.) California fireworks explosion. More than two dozen people were injured from the accidental detonation in Simi Valley, California. The extent of the injuries is still being determined and the bomb squad is investigating. One person at the show says everbody was just terrified and hid in the bushes.
