1.) We first broke the news on Twitter at 3:45am. A bad crash on Jacksonville's westside involved a marked Jacksonville Sheriff's Office car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Jammes and Wilson. We're told police were responding to a suicide call and the officer had his lights and siren activated when the crash happened. The motorcyclist died at the scene. Officer J.T. Kramarsic was taken to the hospital.
2.) We're already saturated, and more is on the way. We're under a flood watch through tonight with bands of heavy rain off and on today. Mike Buresh says most of us should get up to 2'' of rain, and some as much as 3''.
3.) How high will your taxes go? As it stands now Jacksonville taxpayers will see the property tax rate rise 12%. But we've discovered 36 amendments trying to push that total higher, all up for debate and final vote tonight. At a 12% increase the owner of a $150,000 home would pay $7 more per month. It could go as high as 15%.
