The 2010s had some incredible songs that were the backdrop of so many memories made this decade! Here’s the most iconic jams of the ‘10s.  Call Me Maybe Take a random chick from Canada, add an annoyingly catchy tune and get JBiebs to endorse her and you get the Carly Rae Jepsen “Call Me Maybe” phenomenon. This song sounds like getting driven to the mall by your mom with your three best pals screaming it with you in the back.  Party Rock Anthem 12 year olds everywhere were breaking it down to this ‘Sexy and I Know It’ tune from LMFAO. These guys are probably DJing some underground club in Miami right now, but no one would know because they literally just disappeared after dropping some of the greatest hits of the 2010s.  Fancy  First things first this song was the REALEST bop of the summer of 2014. I can still smell the scent of sunscreen in the air on my way to summer camp. We’ve yet to get another hit like this again from Iggy...but there’s always next decade? Wrecking Ball AKA the end of all of our childhoods...when Miley came in swinging in butt naked...we knew the squeaky clean Disney star we’d all grown up with was gone for good.  At least the song smashed. Pun intended.  Thrift Shop  This quirky rap made everyone want to run to their local Goodwill and ball out. You’re absolutely LYING if you say you didn’t want one of these killer fur coats after seeing the video.  What Makes You Beautiful  One Direction came in SWINGING with this song that would define a generation of fan girls who religiously followed their vlogs and XFactor journey. Whether you were the type to go to every concert or stay up until 2AM reading Harry Styles WattPad fan fics, if you followed One Direction, you’re probably still holding out hope that they’ll get back together in 2020. They’re still on hiatus...right?! RIGHT?! Thinking Out Loud Speaking of British guys who get us in our feels...Ed Sheeran made literally every couples wedding song in 2014. This sweet love song was a dreamy anthem for those in love everywhere...and for everyone else to well, just dream.  Closer You could not walk into a bar/club/party without hearing this song throughout the night. Honestly, I feel a little buzzed anytime I hear it. Closer was the banger 2016 absolutely needed and deserved, not to mention it launched their (and Halsey’s!) career.  thank u, next When you Google the word ‘iconic’ this music video pops up. Not only did this song bring together social stars everywhere for an absolutely amazing video, it closed out that weird Ari/Pete engagement season. Our kids will DEFINITELY be vibing to this song in 2050.  Old Town Road If any song was gonna close out the decade it NEEDED to be Old Town Road. This song was the perfect mix of weird, country and rap to make it an absolute banger. This song also gave us Lil Nas X and his wacky tweets, and for that, we’re forever grateful.
  • The biggest stories of 2019 are straight up UNBELIEVABLE. Here are the wildest stories to come out of entertainment this year! Jussie Smollett Case This story sounds like it could have been set up by someone....OH WAIT. It was. Back in January, Empire actor Jussie Smollett received a letter that showed a stick-figure hanging from a tree with a gun pointing towards it. It read 'Smollett, Jussie you will die.” Smollett also claimed he was attacked that same morning, but Chicago Police determined Smollett had orchestrated the attack. This was HUGE because everyone from Shonda Rhimes to Kamala Harris showed support for him publicly. Senator Cory Booker even tried to get an anti-lynching bill passed after the incident! Smollett was removed from Empire after the scandal...but rumors have been FLYING that he’ll be back for the final season.  Miley Cyrus Divorce/Rebounds Miley Cyrus had one of the most extra break-ups of all time. FIRST, she divorces a HEMSWORTH and the next thing we know she’s making out with Brody Jenner’s ex-wife?! Miley, we barely had time to recover from the fact you divorced LIAM HEMSWORTH. If that wasn’t enough, she and Kaitlyn Carter called it quits, then she moves on to Australian singer Cody Simpson like this was all no big deal. We’re sure were in for a wild ride following her in 2020... College Admissions Scandal No 2019 scandal story would be complete without this one... Lori Laughlin and Felicity Huffman shocked America after it was revealed they used bribery to get their kids into college. Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade, didn’t help the situation when videos of her ragging on going to (a very eliter) college came to light. Huffman ended up serving nearly two weeks in prison for the ordeal...but Loughlin? That case will be SURE to make the top scandals of 2020. Stay tuned.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars have finally cut ties with head coach Doug Marrone.  The news broke Saturday afternoon on Twitter via ESPN’s Dianna Russini. This comes just two weeks after the Jags fired executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin.  Marrone heads into his final game with his second straight losing season with a 5-10 record.
  • JBiebs just dropped THE BEST Christmas gift any Belieber could ask for! He dropped a teaser for his new single, ‘Yummy’, his upcoming docuseries AND TOUR DATES. My head is spinning.  Here’s what you need to know.  New Single ‘Yummy’ plays in the background for his Docuseries/Tour/Single teaser and it sounds like a BANGER. I’m sure there will be lots of ~steamy~ lyrics about his wifey Hailey but definitely something we can dance to out at the bars. Yummy is set to release January 3rd or you can pre-save it here.  Tour Dates Okay so he’s not coming to Jacksonville (shocking) BUT he will be performing in Tampa which is totally doable. He’ll be performing July 25th at the Raymond James Stadium. • We only have a few more Christmas PTO days and we’ve got to use ‘em well!!! It’s the week of Christmas and you’ve been snagging more matches than your outdoorsy, Eagle scout cousin at your family bonfire. Jax isn’t exactly a romantic Hallmark wonderland at first glance...but there’s definitely some magical spots!! Grape and Grain Exchange Miracle Bar This time of year, Grape and Grain Exchange turns into a winter wonderland that looks like the set of a cheesy holiday movie called “Snowed Inn” or “Cocktails and Christmas” ...or something.  This Miracle pop-up bar is one of 84 so it’s SUPER rare. I’m pretty sure the only other one in Florida is in Gainesville because college kids live for the Instagrammable aesthetic. Night of Lights I mean can you even make a “Date night” post and not put this on here? No. You can’t. Wannabe influencers everywhere would literally come for me with pitchforks.  We’re actually doing a contest right now where we’ll put you up at the Tryp by Wyndham downtown and throw in some freebies like gift cards to Harry’s and a private tour of the St. Augustine Distillery. Enter to win here. Jax Illuminations More lights?! Yes. The limit does not exist. This one’s for all my lazy peeps out there, because sometimes walking around in 50 degree weather is just like, a lot, you know? Just hop in your car and drive through a the beautiful twinkly lights so your girl can post 15 videos on her snap story and brag about you to her friends the next day. WINNING.
  • Prosecuters charged a Hollywood Hills man in connection with the death of Mac Miller, a hip-hop artist who died of a drug overdose almost one year ago.  A federal criminal complaint accuses Cameron James Pettit, 28, with supplying the rapper with fake oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl. Miller requested percocet, a prescription painkiller that contains oxycodone, from Pettit.  Miller was found unresponsive at his home on Sept. 7, 2018. His death was first believed to be an accidental overdose , and was later discovered that he died from an overdose of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl.
