2020 Careathon expanding to a full week of care for local families

Jacksonville, FL — The COVID-19 pandemic has wildly disrupted our lives in so many ways. Now imagine the worry and drama that surrounds caring for a child with cancer during a pandemic. Keeping them socially isolated from family and friends, protecting them during weekly chemo treatment and more.

The 2020 Careathon, presented by Duval Asphalt, is committed to doing everything it can to provide financial and emotional help for these families. Over the past five years, Careathon has raised just shy of $1 million. We will easily soar past that hurdle in 2020, yet Careathon will look at feel so different.

However, beginning Monday July 13 and continuing through Friday, July 17th, 104.5 WOKV and seven Cox Media Group radio stations in NE Florida will share family stories and raise money through several methods.

  • Monday, July 13 from 5 am - Noon: Dial **1045 on your cell phone to make a secure donation over the phone.
  • Make a secure one-time donation, or recurring donation, to the Child Cancer Fund.
  • Text FOREVER to 41444 to make a secure on-line donation.
  • Browse and bid in the 2020 Careathon Auction. Winning bidders will have 100% of their amount donated to the Child Cancer Fund.

Challenge each other, friends, family to donate. Imagine if everyone donated $25, how quickly that could become thousands if everyone tapped a few people on the shoulder.

Careathon won't be the same without being at Nemours Children's Specialty Care, Jacksonville and visiting with these...
