Jacksonville FL — In an update to a story we brought you last week, Monday the Florida Division of Emergency Management announced once the federally-supported vaccination sites start administering first doses of the Pfizer vaccine again Tuesday, each site will have the capacity to administer up to 3,000 doses a day. Previously we were told by the state that they expected the first dose capacity would be lower than the 3,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine the sites had before the pause last week. FDEM says that capacity might change as it gets more guidance from the feds on resuming the J&J vaccine and each federally supported site in Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, and Tampa may switch back to the vaccine once additional guidance is given.
Since the Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for 16 and 17-year old’s, any Florida resident who is 16 or older will be able to get a vaccine at the federally supported sites.
💉 COVID-19 Vaccination Sites Update: Beginning tomorrow, April 20, each federally-supported vaccination site will have the capacity to administer up to 3,000 first-doses of the Pfizer vaccine, per day.
