4 arrests made in connection to illegal street racing, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Jacksonville Sheriffs Office investigated two separate accounts of street racing over the holiday weekend. The men were later identified as Tamer Fakhouri, Quantral Cannon, Ossama Elmelige and Nicholas Varol.

The first arrest report details 4 Chevrolet Camaros and a Ford F-150 exiting onto Southside Blvd. JSO followed the vehicles while several of the Camaros started to rev their engines at a red light at Southside Boulevard and Philips Highway, then race one another.

The second incident of racing involved 4 more vehicles including 2 Dodge Chargers, a BMW and a Chrysler 300 all pulling onto Phillips Highway towards St. Augustine at high speeds, according to police reports. While on Old St. Augustine road, JSO followed the vehicles and conducted a traffic stop on one of the Dodge Chargers and the Chrysler.
