Jacksonville, Fl — Seven people are now forced to look for new homes after an apartment caught fire on Jacksonville’s southbank.
JFRD was able to bring the fire under control before sunrise. The apartment units on Reed Ave. were deemed on unlivable.
“I woke up this morning and heard a lady screaming outside. She was telling everyone to wake up and get out, so that’s what I did. I woke them up. so we just got out and the firefighters were out here,” Kaiya Brown, a visitor at the complex, said.
JFRD was able to get the fire quickly under control.
The American Red Cross is now helping the people who were impacted. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
