Atlantic Beach adding signs to try to protect dunes

Atlantic Beach is trying to protect their dunes, by warning you to stay off.

The City has put “Keep Out” signs on the dunes, following multiple citizen complaints that people were walking on them. Doing this could jeopardize the dunes’ ability to protect homes and structures along the beach, while also potentially harming the ecological system.

We’re told the signs will be replaced with more visually appealing ones that have more information in the future. This is not connected to a new law in Florida that limits beach access.
