Jacksonville, Fl — We continue the trend of heavy rain and storms in some neighborhoods - on Tuesday, Oceanway picked up a quick three inches of rain. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says the average high temperature today falls to 89 degrees.
We are going to end the month of August below average and wet. Overall the summer of 2022 will go down as very near average.
Today will be partly sunny and warm with highs in the lower 90s inland and mid to upper 80s along the coast. Feels like temperatures will try to approach 100.

Scattered showers and storms will once again develop this afternoon and linger into the early evening hours. Scattered rain and storms are a good bet each day this week.
Labor Day weekend will feature several dry hours, hot and humid temperatures near 90, and scattered storms.
TROPICS: We are tracking a broad area of low pressure in the Central Atlantic several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles. This area to watch may try to develop over the next few days as it moves west-northwest. We will be tracking this one into the weekend and early next week. The early call on this one is a re-curve out to sea.
Another tropical wave has emerged off the West Coast of Africa and could develop over the next few days. This one will bring heavy rain to the Cabo Verde Islands.
After that, it should remain at sea. Finally, an area of low pressure may form in the Northern Atlantic over the next day or two and develop briefly affecting the shipping lanes and fish.
