Back-to-school sales tax holiday begins Saturday

Jacksonville FL — Starting Saturday, you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of this year’s back-to-school sales tax holiday in Florida. According to the Department of Revenue, this year’s sales tax holiday will cover clothes and shoes that cost $60 or less, certain school supplies $15 or less, and the first $1,000 on a new computer that will be used for school.

The department says the sales tax holiday does not apply to rentals or leases on any eligible item, repairs, or alterations to any eligible item, and you’ll not be able to get a tax break on eligible items sold at theme parks, entertainment complex’s public lodging or airports.
