Building heat, isolated storms into the end of the week

10 - 20% coverage of storms expected today.

Jacksonville, Fl — Heat is building this week with high humidity and multiple days at/above 90 degrees. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking hit or miss storms inland, but only 10 - 20% coverage is expected.

We stay warm and humid overnight with temperatures in the upper 60s. Thursday and Friday stay mainly dry and hot with temps climbing into the low 90s. The average high is 83.

Isolated storms are possible but most neighborhoods stay dry until Saturday. That’s when we’ll have increasing clouds and muggy conditions with scattered showers and thunderstorms impacting many areas. It’s only one shot for rain, however.

Mother’s Day is looking spectacular with lower humidity, partly sunny and breezy conditions, with temperatures below average in the low 80s.

The new work week is looking just as nice. The pattern appears more unsettled and wetter long-term, especially into next weekend.
