JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville’s Chief of Sports and Entertainment has been placed on immediate administrative leave.
Ryan Ali is under investigation by the Office of Inspector General into alleged misconduct, according to the city. Ali was informed of this yesterday in a letter from the Chief Administrative Officer, Brian Hughes. While Ali is on leave, he may not contact any city employees during work hours or enter the workplace facility.
As the Chief of Sports and Entertainment, Ali was in charge of the Florida-Georgia Game, the Veterans Day Parade, any of the firework shows, and the majority of the city-run events. Ali became the chief in June 2019. Before that, he was the Director of Development at Baptist Health.
