Clay County student arrested for bringing stolen gun to school

An Oakleaf High School student has been arrested and charged for bringing a gun he stole to school on Monday.

Hunter Cianteo, 17, allegedly stole a Taurus 45mm pistol from a home in Middleburg, while four other minors he knew were housesitting.

The gun owner’s wife called and told deputies at the Clay County Sheriff’s Office that Cianteo had the gun at Oakleaf High. Cianteo’s father came to the school and the gun was found in the car his son drove to the school.

Cianteo was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Jacksonville after he stopped cooperating with the investigation.
