Jacksonville, Fl — The start to the day will be dry, but Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking an approaching cold front that will bring rounds of rain and storms.
“Wind gusts of 30 or 40 mph in a thunderstorm could down a tree that, say a month or two ago, wouldn’t have happened. So we’ll keep an eye on that scenario. The good news is that cold front moves through at least far enough south to dry us out some for tomorrow and Thursday.” said Buresh.

If it seems like it’s been pretty stormy, it has. We are nearing 100 thunderstorm days in Jacksonville this year. We average 77 days every year. The record is 111 days.
Monday’s thunderstorm at JAX Airport brings the September total to 8 days out of 12, which is already at the monthly average.
Anyone living north of I-10 and closer to the Florida-Georgia border have the best chance of seeing a couple of dry days before a stormy pattern returns to end the week.
