Coronavirus vaccine eligibility expanded to people 60+ starting Monday in Florida

Jacksonville FL — Beginning Monday people 60 and older will be eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine at any site in Florida. Previously, we reported when Governor Ron DeSantis made the announcement which will open eligibility for about 1.5 to 2 million people. During an update Friday, DeSantis said he hopes to have an announcement by the end of next week that would drop the eligible age range to 55 and up.

“I think what you’ll see, hundreds of thousands of them over the next week that are gonna be eligible, will likely be able to get it.” DeSantis says.

Sometime in April, DeSantis says vaccines will be available for all adults depending on demand. Last Thursday President Biden directed states to open eligibility to all adults by May 1st.
