Could take weeks to know how 7-month-old Middleburg boy died

It could take weeks before authorities know for sure how a 7-month-old Middleburg baby died Tuesday night.

That's the word from the Clay County Sheriff's Office as investigators sort out what happened to Dylan Travis Wroubel in his Chipmunk Road home.

The initial report from CCSO shows that Jennifer Renee Wroubel - the boy's 28-year-old mother - got in a bathtub to play with her crying son during his bath around 7:15 p.m. and then fell asleep in the tub around 15 minutes later.

It was right after she woke up when she found her son unresponsive and floating in the water, according to CCSO spokeswoman Mary Justino.

Deputies say Jennifer called 911 and tried to do CPR unil paramedics got on scene and rushed him to St. Vincent's Hospital in Clay County. He was pronounced dead just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators think the boy may have drowned since there were no outward signs of trauma on his body, but Justino says nothing's being ruled out until the Medical Examiner's final report is finished, a process that could take weeks to finish.

Charges are pending the completion of the autopsy and the investigation.

No other information has been released at this time by CCSO or the Florida Department of Children & Families.
