COVID-19 testing site in downtown St. Augustine closing Thursday

St. Augustine FL — On Tuesday, the City of St. Augustine announced the COVID-19 testing site in downtown is closing Thursday. The city says it’s due to a decrease in COVID cases within St. Johns County. According to the Florida Department of Health, a total of 607 cases were reported in the county last week, which is down from a total of 1,740 cases during the first week of August around the time when the testing facility first opened.

This site was a partnership between Flagler Health+, the city of St. Augustine, and Ivy Medical.

“We are grateful to have been able to partner with the City of St. Augustine and Ivy Medical in providing this vital service to our community,” stated Flagler Health+ President and CEO Jason Barrett. “The opportunity to provide testing was an integral part in helping slow the spread of the virus over the past few weeks.”

If you want to get tested before the site closes, it will be open between 8:30 and 4:30 near the St. Augustine Visitor Information Center.
