FHP: 40-year-old woman dead after crash on Beaver Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Beaver Street at Devoe Steet around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

FHP says that a 19-year-old driver was driving down Beaver Street when he hit a woman lying in the roadway.

According to the report, the 40-year-old woman was lying in the eastbound lane of Beaver Street before she was hit.

The 19-year-old driver stopped after hitting the woman, according to the report.

FHP says the woman died while being transported to the hospital.

It is unclear on why the woman was lying in the roadway. FHP says this is an ongoing investigation.
