Update: FDOT shifting traffic for I-95 Southbound drivers on the Fuller Warren Bridge to the inside starting Friday evening

Jacksonville — Its part of the improvements planned for I-10 and I-95. FDOT says they are shifting traffic to the inside on the Fuller Warren Bridge for I-95 south drivers. Originally traffic was scheduled to shift on Monday, but FDOT says the shift won't happen until Friday evening. FDOT says the delay in the shift was caused by a subcontractor not getting to Jacksonville on time. FDOT says the shift should be in place by 6:30 Saturday morning. FDOT says the eventual shift is needed to create a work zone for crews so they can begin expansion work on the bridge. FDOT says the shift will begin at the Park Street ramp and end after the exit ramp to San Marco Blvd.

FDOT says the expansion work will be a new lane on 95 South and North along the Fuller Warren Bridge. The expansion includes a new “Shared Use” lane for pedestrians and bicyclists that will be on the southbound side of the bridge parallel to traffic. FDOT says the “Shared Use” lane will connect Riverside with San Marco.

This is FDOT’s concept for the new “Shared Use” lane.

FDOT say the shift is not expected to have an impact on the flow of traffic in the area and the shift will be in place for the next two years.
